Do you know what cannabidiol is? What about cannabis? The latter may be easier, but there is still a lot of confusion about these substances. Despite having similar names, they are different and have different purposes in our culture and in modern medicine. Unfortunately, one of them is still strongly linked to prohibitionism. By the way, even if it doesn't make much sense to prohibit a plant, we will explain in this post what should be observed in each of these substances. In addition, we talk about how you can consume these two products within the law. Take a look at the article and enjoy reading.
What is the difference between cannabidiol and cannabis?
Cannabis is a plant that can be known as marijuana in many places in Brazil. It is the one that is known from substances such as cannabidiol: CBD, tetrahydrocannabinol: THC, cannabinol: CBN and others. Each of these components has a different effect on the human body. Our body naturally has an endocanabinoid system, i.e. it is naturally capable of absorbing cannabis. These sensors are present in different parts of our body. This means that cannabis, or one of its components : CBD, THC or CBN, can be ingested by eating or inhaling. It can also have positive results on the regulation of intraocular pressure: IOP, intestinal and mental health. No wonder marijuana is widely used to reduce anxiety. You can infer from this that it is the only good part of cannabis, but this is not true. Even cannabidiol extracts are sold with lower percentages of THC, CBN and other components of the plant. The reason for this is that only pure CBD does not provide any health benefits, although you can still feel the effects if you use it alone. This means that if you only treat menstrual cramps, cannabidiol may be sufficient. By the way, if you are considering treating Parkinson's disease, you will also need THC, because patients with this disease are also prone to anxiety, and the relief of tremors is not just a matter of muscle, but is influenced by mental status. The endocanabinoid system is the one that plays this unifying role in the benefits of marijuana. Thus, in general, the difference is that the cannabis plant is the matrix of the substance cannabidiol. In addition, marijuana is complete, having all its natural compounds. Its dosage varies according to each strain variation of the plant. Some may have more substance, as well as others more THC.
Cannabidiol
CBD is the cannabis substance responsible for the bad reputation of drug addicts, do you think? This image of laziness and slowness is due to the cannabidiol contained in cannabis. However, there are several advantages to cannabidiol extract.
Tetrahydrocannabinol
Contrary to what many people think, THC is not a poison, it is good, it is not addictive and it does not kill. There are even health benefits for patients undergoing cancer treatment, for example, because it is a substance that helps stimulate the appetite. For pregnant women, it also helps control nausea, which allows them to continue to eat healthily. In addition, THC also acts as an analgesic, which can enhance the natural effect of CBD to relieve pain as well. The main problem is that tetrahydrocannabinol also has psychoactive actions, giving called "breeze" or "travel", in addition to stimulating laughter. This is the only reason why THC is not well accepted in our modern society.
Canabinol
CBN is a component of marijuana that is less well known, but there are already studies that prove its action on the human immune system. It also acts in conjunction with CBD and THC, and potentiates both substances. What are the regulations in Brazil? For the medical use of cannabis, the Anvisa: National Health Surveillance Agency has approved the sale of products in pharmacies and drugstores in Brazil, with effect within 90 days. These products can be used in two ways, through prescription B and prescription A. Depending on the type of illness and treatment attempts, the doctor will use a certain prescription to prescribe the use. In addition, it is not yet possible to cultivate the plant and only a few can manufacture these products in Brazil, which, according to the regulations, will not be treated as drugs for the moment. However, the establishments authorized to sell must import the plant extract or buy from the few authorized producers. This regulation is valid for three years and can be renewed in the future or be definitively released. For recreational use, there is still no provision for the release of cannabis.
How can cannabis be consumed?
There are different ways to consume cannabis and, with it, the CBD and other substances. The main one is vaporization, using specific equipment that does not burn the herb, but heats it to a certain temperature. The difference lies precisely in the combustion of the plant, where the fire consumes all the cannabis and its substances, generating carbon and tar, which go directly to the lungs. The smoke is what is bad and can even cause health problems. When you vaporize, you don't have this kind of problem. Steam is nothing more than the water particles contained in the plant which are eliminated by the air with their substances. Essentially, the vapor contains only particles of hydrogen and oxygen, as well as CBD, THC and other components of cannabis. When using equipment such as a vaporizer, you can also use only the CBD extract. In addition to vaporization, it is possible to use cannabidiol in formulas for other medications, such as: Cannabidiol and cannabis are not that different. Marijuana is the plant that generates CBD, released by Anvisa in Brazil for patients to treat themselves. The only problem is that it contains THC, the component that causes euphoria, red eyes and whets the appetite. To use it, you need a prescription and an herbal extract or spray.
