Top dieting tips, and tips on how to quit smoking?

Hey, I’m only 17 years old, soon to be 18 and i am already 14-15 stone, now this is a little embarrassing, as i always get terrorized by other people that i don’t know, they are always calling me fat. I just want to be normal, i need help with dieting and how to get fit and stop smoking, any tips on this matter will be a great help and hugely appreciated. Thanks xx

If you want to lose weight, you need to two things: eat less and exercise more. Weight gain happens when you create a calorie surplus (eat more than you burn). Your body takes the excess calories and converts them to fat which get stored around your stomach, arms and thighs. The longer you remain in a calorie surplus, the more weight you’ll gain. To lose that weight, you need to do the opposite. You need to create a calorie deficit (start eating less than you burn).

Your first step is to figure out how many calories you burn on a daily basis. Use a calorie calculator – http://calorieneedscalculator.com The number you get from this tool is what your body burns on a daily basis. To lose weight, simply eat less. It sounds a lot easier than it is but making small changes helps you adjust to a new lifestyle. Don’t think of this as a diet, think of it as a new life. Instead of eating foods high in sugars, white flour and saturated fat, go with fruits, vegetables, whole wheats, fish, lean meats, nuts and beans. In addition to eating less, you also need to exercise more. Start off at 1-2 times per week and work your way up to 3-5 times per week.

Don’t make all of these changes at once or you won’t be able to properly adjust to them. Generally, eating healthier foods will decrease your calorie intake. i need a safe and easy way to make a lloud bang. must be legal?

somthing like a works bomb but not as toxic. must be homemade suppliesor easily obtainable. also any smoke bomb tips. no pingpong ball ones i ran out of balls.

Air bomb dude, easy to make, but you must have about 120lbs. pressure in a compressor tank, you need an empty plastic anti-freeze 1 gallon jug with screw on cap. you then drill a hole inthe cap, to install a air hose quick connect,the male end on the outside of cap, seal it as best as you can.reinstall the cap back on the jug, and then tape good with electrical tape, crimp the hose with vice-grip pliers close to the compressor, that keeps you farther away from the bomb, because it will be very loud. let the remaining air out of the line with an air nozzle of a air tool. now that you air line is empty you can safely connect the air line to the bomb, move to your vice-grip pliers , annd when you are ready for detonation, simply remove the pliers, I do recommend at least a 25 to 50 ft air hose so you can be a safe distance away, you will be amazed of how loud it is,,,, and no fire and non toxic,and no smoke,,,Have Fun !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is your best TIP on how to quit smoking for good?

I had tried to quit before but never made it that far because i would get bored and go back to smoking after a couple weeks. I’ve never actually made it 30 days though.

I quit smoking cold turkey on January 11th, and i’m on day 18 of not smoking. Do any former smokers that quit have any tips on what i need to do to stay quit, and make sure i don’t make bad decisions to go back to smoking.

My goal is to make 30 days smoke free and i think that’ll be past the point of no return, once i can go a complete month smoke free. I can take it from there. I’m almost there, i just don’t want to stumble.

Be afraid. Be very afraid. This is how my mum did it. She smoked every day for about 40 years. Then one day she was walking home and got so out of breath and so shaky that she scared herself half to death. She never smoked another cigarette from that day to this (she is now 80), despite having a half full packet on the sideboard for months after quitting. In the end, the best way to quit (or to start) anything is to have a bloody good reason.

Do you have any suggestions for other Medium that I can use in my Art project?

Ever try scratchboard? It’s basically paper with a layer of ink on it. And you use an X-acto knife to scrape away the ink, creating a white line. And you scratch images into the ink. It’s wicked fun! My husband and I are going to begin ttc in about 6 months, i’m losing weight and quit smoking, any tips to in?

does anyone have tips to help increase our chances? We have not taken any precautionary/preventative measures for the last 5 years, so I have a feeling this is going to be tough, we need all the help we can get.

1. go to your doctor for a pre-conception check up. just because you haven’t used protection doesn’t mean you’ll have problems at all. you have to have sex at just the right time to conceive and other factors will play a role, too. your doctor will let you know if they foresee any problems and will make sure everything’s healthy before you start.

2. figure out when you are likely to be ovulating. pick up ovulation test kits (about ten bucks for a week’s worth of tests) and start testing for ovulation…this helps A LOT!

3. get yourself a good prenatal vitamin with folic acid and take it every day.

4. get yourself a basal body thermometer and take your temp first thing in the morning every day. while the ovulation test kit will tell you when you are ABOUT to ovulate, the temps will confirm that you HAVE ovulated. you will see a good rise in temp and it will stay up til your period once you ovulate.

5.start monitoring your cervical mucus…you are most fertile and about to ovulate/ovulating when mucus is the consistency and color of egg whites. it should stretch between two fingers without breaking.

6. try not to do too much pre-planning or worrying. it makes it very difficult for the husband to perform. we’ve struggled with this. try not to put unnecessary pressure on him.

7. have sex either missionary style or from behind as these are most conducive to conception. afterward, put a pillow under your hips to elevate them and keep the semen in.

8. saliva and many lubricants are hostile to sperm. be careful about using them during sex.

9. don’t pee for at least an hour after sex.

10. wait 14 days after you ovulate and use first morning urine to take a home pregnancy test. hopefully it will be positive! GOOD LUCK!

tips on stopping smoking in early pregnancy ? please help?

i think i may be pregnant, it wasn’t planned but my partner and i are ready and very much in love. i smoke about 10 cigarettes a day (max) and i’ve been slowly cutting down over the months but i still feel the need. my mother smoked while pregnant with me and i made a promise i would never endanger my baby’s health by doing the same. i need to stop. i know it will be difficult but worth it. please any tips would be much appreciated. im taking a test today.

If you think you may be pregnant, you need to stop right now. Cold turkey. If you are pregnant with a girl, not only are you putting her life at risk, you are putting your grandchildren’s lives at risk because you are damaging her eggs. Your mom could have damaged your eggs since she smoked while pregnant with you. I hope everything turns out okay. But you need to stop smoking now. It’s not just the smoke that harms the baby, it’s the nicotine. So using smoking cessation products won’t help you.

I got caught smoking weed i need tips?

Okay well i got caught and my dad is still super sketch about the whole thing. I’m terrified if i get caught again i get sent away to military school. Any tips? I don’t smoke in my house or even near it. Give me some help please.

Trick the bastard. That’s what I do with my mom and dad. They simply refuse to believe you are a druggie, because you’re their son. Make something up. A nice little white lie, with good intentions – you’re young and experimenting and want to spare them heartache. Then don’t get caught again.

Help with dealing with my parents smoking?

I need help! My parents smoke everywhere in the house and I don’t really get a say in it at all. I always smell like smoke and even some body sprays do not work. I don’t want to end up very unhealthy because of this (running already hurts me breathing wise). I also don’t want people to think that I smoke. Any tips on dealing with these kinds of things? Depends what exactly they’re smoking. I guess you could just stay as far away from the smoke as you can, and mostly stay in your room with the window open when they smoke in the house.

Good tips for quitting smoking alltogether?

The statistics for giving up smoking are odd. 90% or more of smokers who did give up used no aids at all. However the most common aid that is used is NRT, nicotine replacement therapy. It is a good idea to combine a baseline NRT such as a patch with an instant nicotine booster added in when you need it. For this you can chose gum or the Inhalator.

It needs to be a complete stop, controlled or gradual reduction techniques are very unsuccessful. Even I few cigarettes smoked in the year after ‘giving up’ are a poor prognostic sign for restarting, so it really is all or nothing!

How do you do smoke rings?!?

I really need to learn how to do smoke rings. some people say like you have to move your throat kinda and put the tip of your tongue in the back of your throat but that doesn’t word to well. i wanna take a pic whilst doing it, but i don’t wanna have my hand by cheek (like tapping my cheek which some people have told me to do) so please tell me the easiest way in informational steps.
